Nestling in the heart of a 380-hectare nature reserve, the Bird Park of Villars-les-Dombes proposes visitors a real world tour with its more than 2,000 birds representing 400 species from five continents.

By taking the Route de la Dombes, a marked discovery route punctuated by thematic panels, you will discover many natural treasures as well as an architectural heritage that has remained typical, made up of adobe farms, half-timbered houses and castles, churches and red-brick fortified houses. The feudal castle of Bouligneux, the Plantay tower, the manor-like castle of Saint-Paul-de-Varax, the Notre-Dame-des-Dombes abbey, the chapel of Beaumont and its murals, the town of Trévoux - former capital of the principality of Dombes -, the medieval towns of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne and Pérouges, or the basilica of Ars-sur-Formans, will be so many places to discover during this journey.
